Dear Editor,

Thanks for your fine newspaper — one that manages to have a little something for everyone’s tastes.

This letter might be a little late, but I would like to respond to a few articles in the July 1, 2009, issue.

1. Thank you Emma Paine for the kindness and love of Jesus that you expressed in your Hamilton News. I was really uplifted by the thoughts expressed.

2. Beth Jacks, thank you for the fine humor on the Fourth of July and the great quote by Thomas Jefferson (to paraphrase here) — We are born free, contrasting our freedom does not originate with government, but is given to us by God, the author of liberty.

3. Thanks, Chris Wilson for a great column “Soldiers should not be forgotten.” Men and women of the armed forces — we love you and are proud of you. Keep on, keeping on in our struggle to preserve freedom.
