Abby Lee

BECKER - Abigail Ruth "Abby" Lee, 11, died Saturday, July 11, 2009, at Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center in Memphis. She was born May 20, 1998, in Anchorage, Alaska, to David Barrett Lee and Hope Hunter Lee. She was a lifelong resident of Mississippi. She was a member of Center Hill Baptist Church, where she was a member of the GA's. She was a member of the Monroe County 4-H and Hobby Horse Riding Club in Amory.

Services were at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, at Center Hill Baptist Church in Hamilton with Bro. Terry Edwards officiating. Burial was in Center Hill Cemetery. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home of Aberdeen was in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her parents, David and Hope Lee of Columbus Air Force Base; two brothers, Mark Guthrie Lee and Wade Barrett Lee, both of Columbus AFB; an adopted sister, Holley Pace of Augusta, Ga.; her grandparents, Elizabeth Hunter of Mantee, Richard and Donna Lee of Greenwood, S.C., and Joe and Marlene Smith of Saluda, S.C.

Donations may be made to the Abigail Ruth Lee Memorial Fund at Cadence Bank.

Robert Ward

AMORY - Robert Ward died Monday, July 13, 2009, at the Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center in Amory. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Darden and Sons Funeral Home of Amory.

Chris Groves

NETTLETON - Christopher Curtis Groves, 43, died Sunday, July 12, 2009, at his residence near Nettleton after an extended illness. He was born on Sept. 20, l965, in Carroll County, Tenn., to George Thomas Groves and Helen Jane Holt. He lived most of his life in the Nettleton-Shannon area. A self-employed painter, he attended the Nettleton Presbyterian Church. He was a practical jokester and an avid conversationalist. He loved his land in the Temple Grove Community near Nettleton, where he enjoyed raising chickens and horses, gardening and landscaping his yard. He was a solid amp"Son of the South,amp" who loved General Robert E. Lee and Civil War history. He will be sorely missed by many.

Services were at 5 p.m.Wednesday, July 15, at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland-Harris Funeral Directors with Pam Williams Wright officiating. Burial followed in the Temple Groves Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Ida Russell Groves; his parents: Myrtle Mae Robinson Holt (grandmother and mom) of Nettleton; his mother, Helen Holt Lamb (Bobby Mac), all of Nettleton; his father, George Groves (Linda) of Atwood, Tenn.; his children, Nigel Lynn Sneed, Thomas Christopher "T.C."Groves of Nettleton, and Bridgette Nicole Groves of Shannon; his sister, Kristie Kay Mullins (Robert) of Nettleton; three brothers, Toby Groves (Shera), Nettleton, Sammy Joe Fowler (Angie) of Shannon and Adam T. Fowler (Alana) of Plantersville; his aunt, Zola Wren, and uncle, Joe Holt, both of Nettleton; nephews and nieces, Gabriel Clark (Bethany), Mallory Clark, Ben Groves, Matt Groves, Blake Fowler, Braxton Fowler, Sami Kaye Fowler, Adian Fowler, Arin Fowler, Gavin Kole Clark, Gatlin Kade Clark, Blake Estes, Turner A. Seymore, all of the Plantersville/Nettleton/Shannon area, Kloe' Seymore, Eric Sauceda (Erin), Andrew Sauceda, Suzanne Owens (Nick), all of Pontotoc, and Laura Cox (Ron) of Oxford; numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, John Thomas Holt; his son, Justin Levi Russell; his uncle, Jimmy Doyle Wren; and cousin, Steve Wren.

Henry Dilworth

NETTLETON - Henry Dilworth, 74, died Sunday, July 12, 2009, at his residence in Nettleton. He was a member of Springhill M.B. church in Nettleton. He was a mason and a concrete finisher.

Services were held Friday, July 17, at the Ulysses Sims Primary Gym in Nettleton with Rev. Michael Williams officiating. Burial was in the Mullins Cemetery in Nettleton. Agnew amp& Sons Funeral Home of Verona was in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include four daughters, Judy Williams (Michael) and Sylvia Thompson of Tupelo, Delois Hodges (Floyd) of Nettleton and Twana Shumpet (Eric) of Nettleton; five sons, Frankie Dilworth, Harold Dilworth (Carolyn) and Henry Douglas Dilworth (Angie), all of Nettleton, Herbert Dilworth of Verona and Errick Dilworth (Cheniquea) of Chesterville; three sisters, Joyce Caldwell, Delois Dilworth and Patricia Arnold (Willie), all of Nettleton; one brother, Clayon Dilworth(Margaret)of Okolona; 30 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Dilworth and Aria Gillard Dilworth; and four brothers and one sister.

Phil Pickle

AMORY - Phillip Mark Pickle, 43, died Saturday, July 18, 2009, at the Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center in Amory. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by E.E. Pickle Funeral Home of Amory.

Nick Nicholson

WREN - Nick Nicholson, 83, died Sunday, July 19, 2009, at his residence. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by E.E. Pickle Funeral Home of Amory.

Jerry Dobbins

HAMILTON - Jerry Wayne Dobbins, 61, died Saturday, July 18, 2009, at the Pioneer Hospital in Aberdeen. He was born Jan. 7, 1948, in Millport, Ala., to Lymon Scott Dobbins and Mae Ola Campbell Burks. He and his wife lived in Columbus for 25 years and resided in Hamilton for the past seven years. He was a Pest Technician with Mid-South Pest Control and a member of The Living Church of God.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Tisdale-Lann Memorial Chapel with Evo Walker officiating. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home of Aberdeen is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Wendy Ferrer Dobbins of Hamilton; one daughter, Kammi Lois Dobbins "Peanut" Turner (Joshua); two sisters Scottie Dobbins Blaylock and Rena Clark Pierce; one brother, Billy Wayne Dobbins; and one granddaughter, Rylee Faith "Little Peanut" Turner, all of Coumbus.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lymon Scott Dobbins.

Honorary pallbearers will be Octave Ferrer and employees of Mid-South Pest Control, Medicaid and Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home.

ABERDEEN - Joe Thompson died Sunday, July 19, 2009, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home of Aberdeen.
