Kathleen McDivitt

PONTOTOC – Kathleen Rea McDivitt, age 89, died Monday, June 1, 2009 at the Extended Care Facility in Pontotoc. A native of Bruce, she grew up in Randolph, reared her family in Amory and returned to Pontotoc twenty years ago. She was a member of Green Valley Baptist Church.

Graveside services were at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 3, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Browning Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves her children: Leland W. “Mac” McDivitt, Jr. of Amory and Jo McDivitt of Hattiesburg, and a grandson: Leland W. “Lee” McDivitt III of Madison, MS.

Memorials may be sent in her memory to Pontotoc County Library, 111 North Main Street, Pontotoc, MS 38863.

Patsy Faulkner Mills

ATLANTA - Patsy Louise Fauklner Howell Mills, died Thursday, May 28, 2009, in Tucker, Ga.

Servces were at 2 p.m. June 3 at Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Tom Sheffield officiating. Burial was in the Greenbrier Cemetery.

Jeanie Mitchell

ABERDEEN – Carol Jean Gordon Mitchell, 68, died Monday, June 1, 2009, at her residence in Aberdeen. She was born July 26, 1940, to Carl Jack Gordon and Emma Louise Gordon in Okolona. She graduated from Okolona High School. She grew up in Okolona and lived the past 50 years in Aberdeen, where she was a member of First Baptist Church of Aberdeen. She retired from National Bank of Commerce after 35 years of service.

In a journal she left for her children, the question was “What would be the most wonderful gift you could receive and why?” She wrote, “In material things, I have everything and more than I need. I searched my mind on this one and the most wonderful gift I could receive before I die would be to know that all of my children and grandchildren, including spouses, had a relationship with the Lord and following the Bible teachings so I would know without a doubt we would all be together again on the other side.”

Services were at 11 a.m. June 4 in the Tisdale-Lann Memorial Chapel in Aberdeen with Bro. Roy McKay and Bro. Roy McHenry officiating. Burial was in Oddfellows Rest Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Charlie Ben Mitchell of Aberdeen; two daughters, Lesa Mitchell Young and husband, Carsie, of Aberdeen, and Kay Mitchell Rea and husband, Robert, of Dallas, Texas; one son, Charlie Ben “Mickey” Mitchell Jr. and wife, Jeana, of Brentwood, Tenn.; two brothers, Ted Gordon and wife, Virginia, of Tupelo, and Jack Gordon and wife, Martha, of Okolona; nine grandchildren, John Callon, Ben Chase Callon, William Callon, Blake Mitchell, Mason Mitchell, Morgan Mitchell, Mitchell Rea, David Rea and Katherine Rea.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Pallbearers were John Callon, Ben Chase Callon, William Callon, Blake Mitchell, Mason Mitchell, Mitchell Rea, David Rea, Jason Cantrell and Donald Bunch.

Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Arthur Brown, Kenny Tisdale, Thomas Pierce and employees of NBC (Cadence Bank).

L.C. Lenoir

ABERDEEN – L.C. Lenoir died Saturday, May 30, 2009, at Pioneer Community Hospital.

Services were at 1 p.m. June 5 at Greater Ebernezer M.B. Church with the Rev. Bobby Bowens officiating. Burial was in Greater Ebernezer Cemetery. Belle Memorial Funeral Home of Aberdeen was in charge of the arrangements.

Ida Gray

NETTLETON – Ida Mae Wright Gray, 76, died Monday, June 1, 2009, at her home after a long illness.

Services were at 2 p.m. June 4 at the Chapel of Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Nettleton with the Rev. Gary Carroll and the Rev. Harvey Reeves officiating. Burial was in Jones Chapel Cemetery.

Bobby McIntosh

AMORY – Robert “Kansas City Star” McIntosh, 71, died Saturday, May 30, 2009, at the Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center.

Services were at 1:30 p.m. June 6 at New Prospect M.B. Church in Nettleton with the Rev. George Taylor officiating. Burial was in New Prospect Cemetery. Darden and Sons Funeral Home of Amory was charge of the arrangements.

Col. Van D. Bell Jr.

NETTLETON – Col. Van Daley Bell Jr., 90, died Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Col.

Services with military honors was at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 7, at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland-Harris Funeral Directors with the Rev. David Brooks officiating. Col. Bell will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington D.C. among the nations' military heroes.

ABERDEEN – Ed Cole, 102, died Monday, June 1, 2009, at the Greenwood Leflore Hospital.

Services were at 1 p.m. June 6 at Kings Chapel United Methodist Church. Belle Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Willie Joe Marshall

ABERDEEN – Willie Joe Marshall, 90, died Friday, May 29, 2009, at Pioneer Hospital in Aberdeen.

Services were at 11 a.m. June 6 at Cedar Grove M.B. Church in Aberdeen. Williams Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Barbara Branham

AMORY – Barbara Wigginton Branham, 74, died Friday, June 5, 2009, at the Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center in Amory.

Services were at 2 p.m. June 7 at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Arlis Lee, Bro. Tommy Whaley and Bro. Benny Loveless officiating. Burial was in the Haughton Memorial Park.

Lucian Harrison

AMORY – Lucian Fay Harrison, 86, died Friday, June 5, 2009, at the Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center in Amory.

Services were at 2 p.m. June 8 at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Philip Hathcock, Arch Justice and Jimmy Vaughan officiating. Burial was in the Haughton Memorial Park. E.E. Pickle Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
