Buell S. Noe
KENOSHA, Wis. – Buell S. Noe, 93, of Kenosha, passed away Friday, August 14, 2009, at Kenosha Hospital. He and his twin sister, Jewel, were born to Clayton and Fannie Noe on March 21, 1916, in Sulligent, Alabama. On August 3, 1938, he married his sweetheart Evelyn Frances Stanford in Vernon, Ala. He spent the early part of his married life farming in Mississippi until moving to the Kenosha area in 1956. He worked at Snap-On Tools until his retirement in 1978. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, following current events and taking care of his wife.
Services were at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 17, at the Bruch Funeral Home with burial at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Bruch Funeral Home of Kenosha was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 71 years,Evelyn Noe; his twin sister Jewel of Pontotoc; his daughter, Bettye (Doyle) Easter of Kenosha; three grandsons, Steven (Annette) Easter of Trevor, Wisc., Terry (Candy) Easter and Keith (Ginny) Easter, both of Kenosha; five great grandchildren, Dana Easter, Bryan (Natasha) Easter, Kyle Easter, Gina Easter, and Kevin Easter; two great-great granddaughters, Kiya and Kaylee Easter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Homer and Paul, his sisters, Daisy and Velmar, and an infant daughter, Brenda.
Pallbearers were his grandsons,Steven, Terry and Keith and his great grandsons Bryan, Kyle and Kevin.

Jay Noe
GATTMAN – Earlie “Jay” Junior Noe, 69, of Gattman, died Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009, at his residence. He was born Feb. 8, 1940, in Monroe County to the late Earlie C. and Gladys Louella Lockhart Noe. He had previously worked at Glenn Enterprises and Reltoc.
Services were Wednesday, Aug. 26, at Otts Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Pine Springs Cemetery. Officiating ministers were Bro. Edward Puckett and Bro Dale Ford. Otts Funeral Home of Sulligent, Ala., were in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene Hoe of Gattman; two sons, Terry and Mary Noe of Caledonia and Allen and Tammy Noe of Amory; one daughter, Bobbie Jo Noe of Caledonia; six grandchildren, Jessica Noe, Angelica Noe, Heather Noe, Nathan Noe, Cody Noe, and Cole Noe; one sister, Vickie and Donald Flynn of Gattman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Tammy Sue Noe, and one sister, Tommie Sue Noe.
Dora Ruple
PONTOTOC - Dora Retha Ruple, 84, died Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009, at her home. She was born July 18, 1925, in Covington, Tenn., to Coral E. and Nancy Ann Wilson Pittman. She was the widow of Samuel Box, who died in 1977. She then married Bill Ruple; he later died. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God. She enjoyed cross-stitching, playing on the computer, eating out and NASCAR.
Services were at 2 p.m. August 25 at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Tim McMillan and Bro. Robert White officiating. Burial was in the Keyes Cemetery.
Survivors include five sons, Horace Box (Julia) of Manilla, Ark., Calvin Box (Paula) of Amory, Elmer Box (Pam) of Belmont, Donald Box (Patricia) of Amory and Gary Box (Brandy) of Columbus; four daughters, Doris Dean of Pontotoc, Patty Brush (Jimmy) of Tupelo, Joyce Itzen (Ronnie) of Wing, Ala., and Melba Cox of Fulton; 34 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, 20 great-great-grandchildren; and two nephews and three nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, four daughters, five sons, two granddaughters and one great-grandson.
Pallbearers were Jody Box, Brandon Gray, Toby Gray, Michael Gray, Randall Hester and D.J. Hester. Honorary pallbearers were Cory Box, Justin Fletcher, Trent Long and Tracy Gillespie.
John H. Westcott
FULTON – John H. “Rocky” Westcott, 73, died Monday, Aug. 24, 2009, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born March 30, 1936, in Filmore, Mo.
Services were at 3 p.m. Aug. 27 at Senter Funeral Home. Bro. Bobby Hankins officiated, and Joshua Mongan delivered the eulogy. Burial was in Old Bethel Cemetery in Dennis.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Ruby Ivy Taylor Westcott of Fulton; two daughters, Patricia Mongan (Michael) of St. Charles, La., and Deonne Williams (Raymond) of Fulton; one son, Danny Taylor (Rita) of Fulton; nine grandchildren, Donny Taylor (Tina), Michelle Miller and Jimmy Taylor (Angelle), all of Louisiana, Tammy Strickland of Georgia, Clint Mongan (Kelly) and Joshua Mongan (Sarah), both of Iowa, Amanda Case (Terry) of Amory, B.J. He was preceded in death by his parents, Winfield and Opal Westcott; his grandparents, Ernest and Mable Westcott, and Lewis and Verna Ordung; three brothers, Sheryl Dean, Karen Winfield and Verl Leroy Westcott; his father- and mother-in-law, George and Leona Ivy.

Ludell Tubb
AMORY – Ludell Estis Tubb, 93, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, at the Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center in Amory after an extended illness. She was born July 14, 1916, in Amory to the late Charlie Lee and Ellie Estell Guyton Estis. She married Dred Tubb in 1936; he died in 1995. She graduated from Hatley Schools and was retired from Amory Garment Co. She was a member of the Meadowood Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and gospel music.
Services were 2 p.m. Aug. 28 at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Dr. Lloyd Sweatt and Rev. Lloyd Minor officiating. Burial was in the Hatley Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Ellihue Tubb and Doyle Dred Tubb (Jo Ann), both of Amory; two grandchildren, Tammy Tubb Martin of Amory and Sherry Elizabeth Tubb Miller of Gainesville, Ga.; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Verlie Demple Tubb; one brother, Charlie Eldon Estis; and two sisters, Lee Estell Estis and Ida Ozell Estis LeMint.
Pallbearers were Rex Coker, Tracy Martin, Ray Reeves, Carl Dove, Billy Sizemore and Sam Roye.

David Voyles
SMITHVILLE – David Benjamin Voyles, 23, died Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born Aug. 27, 1985. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he was a recipient of the Duty to God award. He was an Eagle Scout and a student at Itawamba Community College.
Services were 10 a.m. Saturday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Tupelo with Bishop Nels Thorderson and Gene Voyles officiating. Burial was in the Kennedy Chapel Cemetery. E.E. Pickle Funeral Home of Amory was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his parents, Gene L. and Arcola Kennedy Voyles of Smithville; three brothers, Michael, Craig, and Alan Voyles; five sisters, Michelle Bond, Maria AhMu, Lei Ann Finch, Christene Rich and Laura Voyles; and 20 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe and Mattie Voyles, and Lando and Ethel Kennedy.
Pallbearers were Michael Voyles, Craig Voyles, Alan Voyles, Michael Bond, Oliver AhMu, Jason Finch, A.J. Rich and Chris McKissack.
Frances Worden
HAMILTON – Frances Stone Worden, 78, died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born Aug. 17, 1931, to Jasper Denny Stone and Annie Virgin Graham Stone in Shawnee, Ga. She lived the past five years in Hamilton.
A memorial service was at 11 a.m. Auh. 29 at the Tisdale-Lann Memorial Chapel in Aberdeen with Kenneth Blanton officiating.
Survivors include four daughters, Carlotta Smith of Hamilton, Carrel Donnell and husband, James, of Springfield, Ga., and Florence Durance and husband, Melvin, and Roxiann Engel and husband, Billy, all of Clewiston, Fla.; 16 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Victor Josh Worden; and a daughter, Margaret Elizabeth Williams.
Memorials may be made to a local Hospice or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Billy Burrough Jr.
AMORY – Arthur Billy Burrough Jr., 55, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, at his home after a short illness. He was born Jan. 18, 1954, in Louisiana to the late Arthur Burrough and Mary Ann Carter Burrough Cody. He was a lifelong resident of Amory. He married Sherry Lynn Herron in 1997. A master mechanic, he enjoyed working on lawn mowers and cars, especially his Dodge Charger. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and especially his grandchildren. He recently turned his life over to God and was affectionately known by his doctors as “Moses.”
Services were 2 p.m. Aug. 30 at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Stanley Blaylock and Bro. Larry McNeese officiating. Burial was in the Camp Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Lynn Burrough of Amory; five sons, Carlos Magallon (Brandy), José Magallon, Juan Magallon (Ashley) and Jason Burrough (Dana), all of Amory, and Jesse Magallon (Julie) of El Paso, Texas; two daughters, Rhonda Windham (Chris) and Stacy Smith, both of Smithville; one brother, Paul Burrough of Tupelo; one sister, Angela Burrough of Aberdeen; 13 grandchildren, Isaiah, Sophia and Consuela Magallon, C.J. Burrough, Hanna Burrough, Cheyenne Smith, Chasitity Smith, Josiah Burrough, Charity Porter, Benjamin Colburn, Breeanne Odom, Blake and Brasin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ruby Knight and Vicki Britt; and four brothers, Jesse, Bobby and J.C. Burrough and Larry Cody.

Tommy Turner
EGGVILLE – Tommy Gerald Turner, 69, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. A Lee County native, he was born Sept. 26, 1939, to Bonnie Wesley and Christine Simpson Turner. He was a self-employed dozier and backhoe opperator before his retirement. He enjoyed gardening and fishing and he loved his German shepherd, Jacky. He was a member of Eggville Free Will Baptist Church.
Services were at 3 p.m. Aug. 30 at Eggville Free Will Baptist Church with Dr. Gerald Gann officiating. Burial were in Eggville Cemetery. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors was in charge of the arrangements.

Maxine Causey
NETTLETON – Maxine Humphries Causey, 83, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born on Aug. 22, 1926, in Itawamba County to Ed and Rena Gosa Humphries. She was a lifelong resident of Monroe County. She was a former owner and operator of Causey’s Grocery in Nettleton and a Pentecostal. She enjoyed working puzzle books, cooking and being with her family.
Services were at 2 p.m. Aug. 30 at the Chapel of Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Nettleton with the Rev. Larry Hill Sr. and the Rev. Larry Hill II officiating. Burial was in Liberty Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Rhonda Ray (Samuel) of Becker; two sons, Larry Causey Sr. (Glenda) and Terry Causey, all of Nettleton; one sister, Charlene Adkins (Jerry) of Jasper, Ala.; six grandchildren, Abbie Mullins Hester, Wade Causey, Christy Causey, Larry Causey Jr., Misty Causey Edgil and Chip Causey; 16 great-grandchildren, four stepgreat-grandchildren, two stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Causey; her parents; one daughter, JoAnn Mullins; one son, Jerry Causey; three sisters, Catherine McCollum, Faye Whittemore and Dimple Bridges; four brothers, Herman, Herbert, Hoyle and David Humphries.

Wilma Tucker
HOUSTON – Wilma Griffin Tucker, 90, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, at the Floy Dyer Extended Care Center.
Services were at 1 p.m. Sept. 1 at Houston Chapel CME Church in Houston with the Rev. Willie Frank Howell officiating. Burial was in Houston Cemetery. Belle Memorial Funeral Home of Aberdeen was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include five sons, Robert Frank (Judy) and Henry Gus (Robbie), both Beloit, Wis., Dennis Ray Tucker (Martha), Willie Rogers Tucker (Martha) and Frankie Lee Tucker, all of Houston; one daughter, Sarah Ann Blanchard (Ferdinand) of Aberdeen; one sister, Lorraine Alexander of St. Louis, Mo; two grandchildren she reared as her own, Stephon Ray (Hope) and Stacey Roxanne (JB III); 28 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, Willie Frank Tucker; a daughter, Shirley Ann London; a grandson, Maurice Tucker; her parents; and three brothers, Dan Griffin, Jessie Lee Griffin and Jack Griffin.
Grandsons served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be her sons.
Bennie Brown Sr.
AMORY - Bennie Henry Brown Sr., 75, died Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. He was born Dec. 25, 1933, to Audie E. Brown and Myrtle Ethel Benson Brown in Itawamba County. He graduated from Aberdeen High School. He was a member and deacon of Faith Baptist Church in Amory. He was a Mason and a retired businessman.
Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Aug. 31 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen with the Rev. Wade Cook officiating. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen was in charge of the service.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Senter Brown of Amory; two daughters, Debbie Hull and her husband, Johnny, of Hamilton, and Donna Elam and her husband, Jay, of Smithville; one son, Ray Brown and his wife, Christy, of Amory; five stepchildren, Allen Williams of Valdosta, Ga., Shirle Bruce of West Point, John Williams of Hamilton, Tommy Williams of Aberdeen and Burt Williams of Frankfort, Mich.; one sister, Ruth Smith of Aberdeen; one daughter-in-law, Liz Brown of Amory; seven granchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a number of stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Dorothy Robertson Brown; one son, Bennie Henry Brown Jr.; one grandson, Brandon Brown; one brother, Roy Brown; and one sister, Raye Palmer.
Pallbearers were family and friends.
Kevin Loden
NETTLETON – Kevin Ray Loden, 49, died Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born June 1, 1960, in Amory to Travis and Fay Ridings Loden. He was a graduate of Amory High School. He married Judy Randolph in 1995. A very devout Christian, he was a member of the Emmanuel Assembly of God, where he served on the Board of Trustees. He was a 26-year employee of Tecumseh and worked three and a half years at True Temper before becoming disabled. He was an E.M.R. and a volunteer fireman for the Union Fire Department, serving on the board of commissioners. An avid hunter and fisherman, he was a member of the Standifer Creek and Shiloh Hunting Clubs. He was devoted to his family and friends.
Services were at 4 p.m. Aug. 30 at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Phil Wood, Bro. James Rutledge and Bro. Ricky Jones officiating. Burial was in the Jones Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Loden of Nettleton; his parents, Travis and Fay Loden of Amory; two daughters, Tessa Capps (Glenn) of Nettleton and Kellie Marie Loden of the home; one brother, Mike Loden (Cindy) of Amory; twin granddaughters, K’Lee and KiLee Capps; and a special friend, Robert Sargent.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Earlene Ridings, and Burrette and Vera Loden.

Martha Sue Ringley
Mantachie – Martha Sue Ringley, 67, died Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was born on Sept. 4, 1941, in Bristol, Tenn., to Mike and Zelda Stevenson. She was a member of the Meadowbrook Baptist Church and she was an assembly line operator at Super Sagless for over 20 years. She enjoyed fishing, taking care of her flowers, seeing the sights down the Natchez Trace and spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services were 4 p.m. Aug. 31 at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Robert Fowlkes officiating. Burial was in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include one son, Bobby (Shelia) Mulligan of Plantersville; her special friend and companion, J.R. Harbin of Mantachie; two step-sons, Roger (Shannon) Harbin of Fulton and Eddie (June) Harbin of Amory; one son-in-law, Johnny Westmoreland of Fulton; one sister, Betty Yon of Red Banks; one brother, Mike (Audrey) Stevenson of Southaven; 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Teresa Westmoreland and a grandson, Sean Jason Taylor.
Pallbearers were Jason Mulligan, Christopher Mulligan, Josh Mulligan, Arlis Loden, Joey Glover, Sean Portilla and Johnny Westmoreland. Honorary pallbearers were her two grandsons that are currently serving in the United States Army and are stationed in Iraq, Jamie Westmoreland and J.J. Westmoreland.
Malcom Roberts
AMORY - Malcom Earl Roberts, 73, died Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, at the Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center. He was born Aug. 9, 1936, in Hamilton, Ala., to Mae Pat Stphens Roberts and the late Ivie N. Roberts. He married Jane McCary in 1982. A third-generation jeweler, he owned and operated Roberts Jewelry. He received his training from the Gem City Horological College in Quincy, Ill., and served his apprenticeship in Memphis until returning to Amory in 1969. A member of the Amory Rotary Club, he was recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow. He was a member of the Amory Professional and Retailers Association and was past president of the Amory Jaycees. He was a member of the First Baptist Church where he served as deacon. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and spending time with his family.
Services were at 2 p.m. Aug. 31 at the First Baptist Church in Amory with Dr. Allen Simpson and the Rev. Jimmy McFatter officiating. Burial was in the Masonic Cemetery. E.E. Pickle Funeral Home of Amory was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Roberts of Amory; his mother, Pat Roberts of Amory; one son, Shawn Roberts of Tupelo; three daughters, Tammie Page (Hal) of Tupelo, Dina Pierce (Gene) of Amory, and April Hitt (Chris) of Oxford; one brother, Richard Roberts (Dawn) of Sulligent; 12 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Harold H. Roberts.
Pallbearers were Charles Killibrew, Gene Haney, Steve Brandon, Len Pinkley, Larry Goudelock and Kevin Trautman. Honorary pallbearers were the Henry Tire Coffee Club, Voy Cantrell and Don Hightower.

Esterlene Morgan
OKOLONA - Esterlene Morgan, 97, died Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, at Shearer Richardson Nursing Center in Okolona where she had resided the past two years. Miss Morgan was born in Chickasaw County on July 24, l912, the daughter of the late Thomas C. and Trannie Cox Morgan.
She grew up in the Buena Vista Community of Chickasaw County and lived 69 years in Okolona.
Until her death, she was the oldest living member of the Buena Vista United Methodist Church and was employed during World War II at the Gulf Ordinance Plant in Prairie. Her remaining working life included being a seamstress at Delta Trousers and Indian Creek Apparel. She enjoyed sewing and growing flowers, and was a beloved sister, aunt and friend.
Services were at 2 p.m. Aug. 31 at the Okolona Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with the Rev. Steve Lampkin officiating. A private burial followed in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include her two sisters: Ara Mae Garner of Houston and Annie Marie Massey of Aberdeen; her nieces and nephews, Marvin Massey (Mariden) of Tyler, Texas, Lloyd Massey (Jean) of Aberdeen, Robert Garner (Dell) of Houston and LaNelle McMillen (Bobby) of Columbus, and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas C. and Trannie Morgan; her brothers, Lewis and Floyd Morgan; a sister, Maggie Morgan; and one nephew, Jerry Massey.

Darnell Cox
ABERDEEN – Darnell Cox, 41, died Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009, at the Central Mississippi Medical Center. He worked for the State of Mississippi.
Services were at 1 p.m. Aug. 29 at Belle Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen. The Rev. Avis Shelton officiated. Burial was in Palo Alto Cemetery.
Survivors include his mother, Thelma Lee Cox; six brothers, Willie Charles (Loretta) Cox, Richard (Betty) Cox, James (Hazel) Cox, Albert (Lillie) Cox, Larry (Marilyn) Cox and Derrick (Rosalind) Cox; five sisters, Flora (Curtis) Outlaw, Dorothy (Roosevelt) Fears, Thelma Lou Cox, Nichole Cox-Shaw and Felecia (Chad) Lenoir.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willie B. Cox.
