A Parkway Elementary School teacher has been arrested by deputies with the Monroe County Sheriff's Department.

Teresa Dill Johnson, 46, 1219 Lake Drive Amory has been charged with possession of precursors with intent to manufacture and possession of a controlled substance (crystal methamphetamine). Parkway Elementary is in the Tupelo School District. She has been on leave since November 10.

"Teresa Dill-Johnson, a TPSD teacher, has been on leave beginning November 10, 2009. With her recent arrest, she will be suspended pending the completion of an internal district investigation and upon my recommendation to the Board of Trustees," TPSD Superintendent Randy R. Shaver said Tuesday. "The Tupelo Public School District is committed to ensuring that every child and employee in our schools is provided a safe learning environment."

Also arrested was Michael Lee Soden, 28, 908 North Boulevard, Amory. Soden was charged with possession of precursors with intent to manufacture and possession of a controlled substance (Crystal Methamphetamine)

"On Saturday, January 23, Monroe County deputies made a traffic stop on a vehicle in Amory that led them to 1219 Lake Drive in Amory," Sheriff Andy Hood said. "At the residence, deputies and agents from the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit located three plastic bottles with pre-mixtures inside the house (shake & bake meth labs) and several grams of crystal methamphetamine.

Johnson and Soden were both arrested at the home.

Johnson's bond was set at $10,000 by Judge Robert Fowlkes. Soden's bond was set at $20,000.

well i sure hope that andy hood dont let pat out of jail as easy as he let those boys out from amory that was charged with sexual battery, i hope people realize that they(boys familys) put up a property bond but did that property bond equal $100,000 worth of property, probably not cause be honest who has a $100,000 worth of paid property with a deed lying around that u can just hand over to the sheriff for a bond, looks like some shaky business. andy plays with our community for votes that is why he let two families sign $100,000 worth of property bonds because he can get more votes out of two families instead of one, NOTE: you stay in jail longer with a DUI than those boys did, such a shame

Not bad for a meth freak as for as looks but what a pathetic loser being a school teacher and all... for petes sake will this ever stop? Thanks to The Monroe Journal for showing these mugshots to show our community who the dopers are and how ugly the drugs make you look. Teresa Dill Pickle Eater Johnson still has a ways to go to get the beautiful meth mouth when her chin pokes out and around her mouth sinks into her face. Its a great look for some but not my style. You meth idiots can continuing doing your trashy way of life and keep getting arrested sooner or later you will overdose and die which will be a relief to the taxpayers and community. Hell, I will load your needle for you if I knew it you get rid of you morons any quicker.

No, Diane, I guess I don't expect YOU to feel sorry for a drug addict. I would expect that MOST people have some compassion when someone else is going through a hard time and realize that there is also a family involved. You have made it abundantly clear that this is not a trait you possess. With that being said, there is no further reason for me to "argue" my point with you.

The majority of posts about this article highlight the fact that meth is an epidemic in our society and that is a powerful drug that is not being dealt with properly by the authorities. A large majority of people on meth are our neighbors, friends, and family. I believe that until it "hits home," people don't have a real understanding that it is more serious than we realize. It's not just about some white trash junky. It's about all of us - the abuser, the family, the friend, etc.

Gamezone, that was me agreeing with you on that last Anon post. Sorry Ididnt put my name I was working to hard on my spelling,I guess.

But I dont agree with you on our local paper. As you well know there are two sides to every story then there are the facts.

I agree with you on the meth thing, but nothing else you have said on this website has changed my mind about your being an Idiot. Just open your mouth and insert your foot, once again.

I also think Aberdeen is in need of a pool hall, have you thought about moving yet?

Gamezone, you make a very strong statement on this issue. I agree one hundred percent. Money dosen't stop the addiction. This is a terrible and dangerous drug and it is destroying so many lives.

I can't belive I am on here agreeing with you, but you are right on the money with this one. Now don't mess this up by posting somthing about poore spelling or rednecks.

I'm not sure why diane got an apology from saveaberdeen. You just answered her question.. How tacky of diane to make the first comment she did in the first place. Is "kick 'em while they're down" your motto? Teresa is a good person who obviously has some HUGE issues going on in her life. Losing our footing in life is just a step away. I pray Diane doesn't hit her "rock bottom" any time soon.

Oldman.. Meth is a very powerful drug! It doesn't matter who you are, what color you are, if you are fat or skinny, rich or poor, old or young. I just don't understand that if you know what this drug does to you then WHY try it? I don't know this woman but yes my heart goes out to her family. And yes it will mess up a family. I hope that she gets help and turns her life around.

God Bless

I apologize, diane639. I definitely was not trying to be rude or disrespectful at all. I was just speculating why they may have changed the headline -- thinking that maybe the newspaper thought people would be more drawn to headline of a "current" teacher rather than a "former" teacher. Once again, I am sorry my comment was misunderstood.

I "expect" that just because she currently teaches in Tupelo, doesn't mean that she didn't previously teach in Aberdeen. I'm just curious if someone complained or something, but thanks for your sarcasm, saveaberdeen. I always appreciate a good smart a**.
